مشخصات عمومی قیر

قیر ماده ایست که در سالیان دراز تغییر شکل پیدا نکرده و پایدار میماند . این پایداری مربوط به خواصی است که قیر خالص دارا میباشد باین معنی که هرچه پایه نفتی آن مناسب تر باشد پایدارتر خواهد بود.

مشخصات عمومی قابل توجه قیر عبارتند از:

1- غیر قابل نفوذ بودن در مقابل آب و رطوبت

2- مقاومت در مقابل اسیدها – بازها و نمک ها

3- قابلیت ارتجاع

4- چسبندگی

5- محلول بودن در برخی از حلالها ( بدون از دست دادن خواص خود )

6- عایق بودن در مقابل جریانهای الکتریکی

7- تشکیل دادن فیلم پایدار بروی اجسام مختلف

8- داشتن رنگ ثابت

در بعضی موارد قیر خاصیت اصلی خود را از دست میدهد بطوریکه نمی توان از آن به خوبی استفاده نمود .

1- تجزیه شدن در حرارت زیاد و تبدیل آن به ذغال توام با اشتعال

2- نداشتن خاصیت چسبندگی در محیط مرطوب و آلوده بخاک نرم
